Angus has worked in community mental health and private practice for many years, gaining invaluable experience in helping others cope with a wide variety of personal behavioural and emotional issues. Early identification and treatment of mental health issues remains a particular focus and passion.

Currently working in both the public and private health systems, Angus offers private clients the opportunity to get the very best treatment options.

In addition to his private practice Angus works in community mental health with Waitemata District Health Board, where he is the Principal Psychologist for Adult Mental Health. He is also an Honorary Academic at the University of Auckland Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and holds the position of Co-President of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP)

Angus is trained to assess and treat a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. With a particular interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), it is considered the third wave of the Cognitive Behavioural Science (CBS) tradition. ACT is a therapy where you don’t just talk about the problem – it is a therapy where you actively learn new skills to improve the quality of your life.

Angus is also comprehensively trained in mindfulness based approaches, he is a trained teacher of the Mindful Self Compassion program, and can integrate other therapeutic modalities depending on the individual needs of the client.
