Angus has worked in community mental health and private practice for many years, gaining invaluable experience in helping others cope with a wide variety of personal behavioural and emotional issues. Early identification and treatment of mental health issues remains a particular focus and passion.
Angus offers private clients the opportunity to get the very best treatment options.
In addition to his private practice Angus holds the position of Co-President of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP)
Angus is trained to assess and treat a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. With a particular interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), it is considered the third wave of the Cognitive Behavioural Science (CBS) tradition. ACT is a therapy where you don’t just talk about the problem – it is a therapy where you actively learn new skills to improve the quality of your life.
Angus is also comprehensively trained in mindfulness based approaches, he is a trained teacher of the Mindful Self Compassion program, and can integrate other therapeutic modalities depending on the individual needs of the client.
